Amador | App Font
This package includes Amador in Truetype format (1 font file) for use in an App.
Initially designed and published by Jim Parkinson in 2004, Amador is primarily a condensed English blackletter type, a littera oxoniensis but influenced by the spirit of the Arts and Crafts movement. The works of Frederic Goudy and Rudolf Koch are reflected in this design, culminating in a unique blend of calligraphic styles judiciously tempered by Parkinson’s own experience creating numerous blackletter nameplates for newspapers spanning several decades of his prolific career.
This update (v 2.2) to Amador expands the glyph repertoire to over 1,000 glyphs supporting 224 languages, including Vietnamese, African, and Oceanian languages. Among the bevy useful of new glyphs, are a selection of stylistic alternates, swash variants, ligatures, catch words, arrows, fractions, symbols, and more. Powerful Opentype features are built in to make accessing all those glyphs quick and convenient.
This condensed blackletter display type is perfect for use in logos and headlines. Put it to work on certificates, beer labels, posters, and more for its old world heritage and rich pedigree.
